On 15 March 2018, Ambassador Yury Filatov met with members of the Irish mass media. Ambassador offered principled assessment of the situation with the “Skripal affair”, emphasizing unacceptable and irresponsible nature of the British authorities’ provocative behavior in relation to events that took place on 4 March 2018.

It was underlined that the Russian Federation rejects language of ultimatums and expresses readiness for serious cooperation in investigating the case within the framework of international legal mechanisms. However openly hostile actions of the British authorities in relation to the Russian diplomatic personnel in London will not be left unanswered.

On 20 February, 2018, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ireland held a reception to mark Defender of the Fatherland Day.

On Tuesday, February 13, 2018 Ambassador Yury Filatov met with members of the «Sofia» Society for International Affairs, Trinity College Dublin. In his speech Ambassador covered key issues on international agenda and spoke about current state and prospects of the Russia-Ireland bilateral relations.
